SCORING RULES
During this step you’ll define the forms and questions to be answered. Besides, you can select the rule for scoring points and if it will be proportional or total.
WHICH FORM IS GOING TO BE USED IN THIS RULE?
Here you can choose the form you will use as base for your strategy. Keep in mind that this form should be designed so as to grant valid scores to the options of registered questions.
WHAT QUESTION NEEDS TO BE ANSWERED?
You should also select which question from the form must be answered in order to score points.
THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION MUST BE
You can also define which scoring rule to be applied if the answer to the question is:
- Higher than expected
- Exactly as indicated
- Within range
- Within range based on price index (eg: I expect my product to cost between 80% and 120% of competitor X). For that, in the template to import the conditions, the user must inform his product, the competitor product, and a percentage range to make the comparison.
HOW MANY POINTS GET THIS RULE IN YOUR STRATEGY?
On this field inform the total amount of points achievable by this rule.
HOW DO YOU WANT TO DISTRIBUTE THE POINTS?
Here you can choose how the POS Score should be calculated:
- If you select Proportional the total value of the rule is split and each item scores individually. For instance, if 15 out of 30 items are correct the POS will score 50%.
- If you select Total, all items must present the right answers in order to score. For instance, all of the required items should be displayed on the POS.
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE RULE?
It’s on this field your rule will be entered. Choose a name that reminds you of its characteristics, such as price range, price per item, shelf presence, product’s visibility etc.
CONDITIONS
On this last step, you will set the values expected for the surveys answers. Fill out your own set of conditions on a spreadsheet and then import it to the system.
This resource offers you the following option when importing:
- Download Template, containing all of the forms’ items for you to complete with your expected values.
Choose the template according to your strategy and complete the columns on a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet contains the list of items and the desired values for the scoring rule. Check the information you should enter in each pillar:
Price |
You should import your price pillar template with monetary values. The fields on the form should accept Whole Number and Decimal Number formats. |

Presence |
The template of the presence pillar should be imported following the format of the questions on the forms. Yes and No for checkbox questions, and any answer for text, single choice and list of alternatives questions. |
